    Sahasrara (Sanskrit: सहस्रार, Sahasrāra), or Sahastrara

    Appearance: 1,000 multi-colored petals arranged in 20 layers with 50 petals.

    Location: Sahasrara is centered at the top of the head.

    Seed mantra: mmm

     

    Ajna (Sanskrit: आज्ञा, ājňā) meaning “command or summoning”

    Appearance: Two white petals.

    Location: Ajna is positioned in the brain, behind the eyebrow center.

    Seed mantra: Aum

     

    Vishuddha (Sanskrit: विशुद्ध, Viśuddha) also known as Vishuddhi

    Appearance: 16 purple or smoke colored petals.

    Location: Vishuddha is positioned at the neck region near the spine.

    Seed mantra: ham

     

    Anahata (Sanskrit: अनाहत, Anāhata), meaning “unhurt or unbroken”

    Appearance: A lotus flower, with 12 vermilion petals.

    Location: Anahata is positioned behind the spine at the heart region.

    Manipura (Sanskrit: मणिपूर, Maṇipūra), meaning "City of jewels"

    Appearance: An upside-down triangle, with 10 dark-blue petals.

    Location: Manipura is situated directly behind either the solar plexus.

    Swadhisthana (Sanskrit: स्वाधिष्ठान, Svādhiṣṭhāna), meaning “One's own abode”

    Appearance: A lotus flower, with six vermilion colored petals.

    Location: Swadhisthana sits at the tailbone, two finger-widths above Muladhara.

    Muladhara (Sanskrit: मूलाधार, Mūlādhāra), meaning “Root” or “Support”

    Appearance: A square lotus, with eight sided spears and four red petals.

    Location: Muladhara sits at the of the spine
